Encryption and decryption are identical in Free and Pro. Pro just adds more ways to create codes: bigger splits, the Discreet style, PDF export. A friend on Free can always scan back what you made with Pro.
Free already uses the same on-device, end-to-end encryption Pro does. Same primitives, same security guarantees, no asterisks. Pro is what you reach for when the secret matters enough to want more control over how it’s split, styled, and shared.
Free splits a secret into 2 pieces. Pro takes that up to 10, and lets you set how many of them must come back together to unlock it. Three-of-five, six-of-ten, any combination that fits how much risk you can stomach.
More pieces means more places to hide them. One with a partner, one in a safe, one in a sealed envelope at the office. And a higher bar before anyone can put the secret back together.
Free & Pro
Carries the Qryo wordmark and a scan caption. When someone points an iPhone camera at one, the message decrypts on the spot. No need to install Qryo first, no account, no setup. Made to be handed to anyone.
Pro only
Plain black-and-white with no Qryo branding. Indistinguishable from any other QR in the wild. Only the Qryo app can read it. As a bonus, dropping the branding frees up roughly twice as much room per code, so longer messages fit and splits can use fewer pieces.
When you split a message into several QR codes, the PDF export bundles every piece into one print-ready file. Pick the layout that fits how you’ll use it.
Best when each code lives somewhere different. Separate envelopes, separate people, separate vaults. Easy to hand out without revealing the others.
